05/08/2026

Irwin Mitchell has reported a 6.4 per cent increase in revenue to £337.5m (FY25 £317.1m) following a year of significant investment and strategic transition in which the firm simplified its business model, invested in core legal services and strengthened its national footprint.

Underlying profit before tax from trading activities was £16.5m, compared with £22.4m in the previous year, reflecting planned significant one-off investments in technology, an increase in national insurance contributions due to UK tax changes and several office moves across locations including London, Brighton, Liverpool, Cardiff and Nottingham. The investment made in the year is expected to drive future growth and profitability.

The latest results also confirm Irwin Mitchell’s strong financial foundations with cash and equivalents increasing to Ā£84.3m (FY25 Ā£69.2m), net assets of Ā£169.6m and work in progress now exceeding Ā£540m.

Irwin Mitchell has continued to progress its strategy of focusing on higher value complex legal work and the firm’s international revenue more than doubled to Ā£35.4m (FY25 Ā£16.2m), reflecting growing strength in cross-border and specialist advice for both businesses and private clients. International work now represents more than 10 per cent of revenue, leveraging key client relationships and international law firm partnerships. The firm also received a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise for its work supporting international trade  by advising overseas businesses investing in the UK.

Progress has also been made in relation to greenhouse gas emissions with scope 1 and 2 emissions decreasing by 21 per cent and scope 3 emissions by 26 per cent. The firm’s car fleet is now 76 per cent hybrid or electric.

Craig Marshall, Group Chief Executive Officer at Irwin Mitchell, said: ā€œThis has been an important year for Irwin Mitchell.
