New leadership for Irwin Mitchell’s North-East Family Law team

Ian Kennerley said: “When we sold Silk Family Law to Irwin Mitchell we knew that we were entrusting our clients with a top tier family law service, with the added capability of a full-service firm. Now that Silk is fully integrated into the Irwin Mitchell business it’s time to hand over the reins in the North East to our excellent colleagues and step back from day-to-day legal work.

“Kim, Margaret Simpson and I worked alongside Wayne for many years and I’m very proud to be handing over to Wayne. I am confident that the team will go from strength-to-strength under the guidance of the wider Irwin Mitchell leadership, with Wayne at the helm here in Newcastle.

“After 42 years of practice in the law, with many long days and short nights, I am looking forward to focusing entirely on my family and applying my mediation skills to resolving the disputes between my four grandchildren.”

Having established the firm as a top tier practice with a nationwide reputation, it is time to leave our former Silk colleagues and our Irwin Mitchell friends to grow the team and to continue the excellent work that Irwin Mitchell undertake. I am looking forward to spending extended time with my family and will watch the growth of the team from the comfort of retirement.”
