Law Firm Raising Money For Rowcroft Hospice
A group of four lawyers from Irwin Mitchell’s South West office will be covered in every colour in the rainbow as they take part in the biggest and brightest 5K run in South Devon at the weekend to raise vital funds for a hospice in the region.
Money raised on the day will be donated to Rowcroft Hospice which provides care and support for people and their families suffering from asbestos-related illnesses including terminal cancer.
The ‘Colour Rush’ takes place on Saturday 12th September with hundreds of runners being covered head to toe in powder paint as they make their way around the 5K course at Paignton seafront.
Over the past year Irwin Mitchell has recovered £27,000 for the Rowcroft Hospice through their client’s compensation claims. The law firm always encourages its clients to consider including recovery of non-NHS funded care in a case.
Virginia Chalmers, Isabelle Selley, Leanne Leighton and Nicole Ross from Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office who work in the workplace illness and injury team will be taking part in the run.

Expert Opinion
“Through our work we see how important hospices are to our many clients and their families, so we are delighted to be able to do what we can to raise money in aid of such a great cause and to support such a fun event.
“Rowcroft Hospice provides invaluable care and support to a huge number of our clients who are suffering from asbestos-related illness, including the terminal asbestos cancer, mesothelioma. They support their patient’s throughout their illness and in the final stages of their life, as well as offering help and support to their families during what can be a very difficult time.
“They also provide psychological and emotional support to sufferers and their families. Only a small percentage of their costs are funded by the NHS and so they rely on donations and fundraising to continue to offer their services to those in need.
"Irwin Mitchell are proud to be able to support this fantastic local service and we look forward to supporting them in their continued provision of such an important resource for families in the South West.” Virginia Chalmers - Partner
