Expert Lawyers Instructed To Help Family Gain Answers About Their Loss
The family of a 20-year-old student who was killed as she crossed the road on her way to university have said they hope the inquest will provide much-needed answers about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Bihari Payagala died at the scene on 23 February 2012 after she was struck by a car as she was walking up St Stephen’s Hill in Canterbury to attend the University of Kent, where she was studying sociology.
Expert lawyers from Irwin Mitchell are representing Bihari’s parents, Don and Sumedha Payagala, at the inquest in claims against Kent County Council who were responsible for the safety measures on the road, as well as the motor insurers of the driver.
The hearing will begin on 18 June at North East Kent Coroner’s Court, sitting at Sandwich Guildhall, and is expected to last three days.
Nancy Collins from Irwin Mitchell is representing the family.
