The Leeds Personal Injury team represented a man who was injured when a car reversed into him whilst he was sitting on a public bench.
As a result of the accident, he sustained significant fractures to his leg which required a number of surgical procedures and skin grafts. The injuries left our client with considerable scarring and, as well as his physical injuries, he developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and anxiety following the accident. He has been left with long term symptoms of pain in his leg.
Personal injury experts in our Leeds office made a claim against the driver of the vehicle involved. We claimed that there had been a failure to heed the presence of our client and drive with due care and attention. Liability was admitted and the client received more than £90,000 in compensation. This included compensation for the injuries, past loss of earnings, past travel expenses and also future loss of earnings and treatment costs.
Cathryn Godfrey, Associate Solicitor for Personal Injury in Leeds said “whilst liability for the accident was not in dispute, this was a claim involving complex issues due to the development of chronic pain, which had to be fully investigated”.
