Licence regulations are always changing. That’s why it’s vital you are complying with the latest gambling legislation. If you hold an operating licence, you’ll also need to make sure you’re complying with licence conditions and codes of practice (LCCP).

We stay up to date with the latest regulatory requirements and updates in gambling law. This means the advice we give you will be up-to-the-minute and best suited to your needs. If you need to make an application, we’ll ensure that it addresses all the necessary areas, giving you the best chance of it being granted.

You must send all the supporting documentation when you submit your online application. Not providing the Gambling Commission with all the information and supporting documentation required    is likely to result in the application being rejected. Your application fee won’t be refunded, and you’ll need to start the whole process again.

The type of licence you will need depends on the type of gambling you want to provide. A licence is required for each separate activity. If you wish to provide gambling at a physical premises, you'll also need a premises licence from the Local Authority in which the premises are located.

Once you have spoken to us about your business and the type of gambling facilities you wish to offer, we’ll advise you on which licence(s) you will need.

If you intend to acquire physical business premises and wish to provide land-based gambling, you’ll need one of the following gambling premises licences:
