I am a grade 3 Paralegal. I work within our award winning military injury team and specialise in helping veterans bring claims under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.
What inspired you to get into law?
If I am honest, I accidently fell into law about 17 years ago as a legal secretary and I have worked my way up to my current position. From the moment I landed, I developed a passion for helping people and love the field of work I am currently in.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I find that listening to the feedback from client is extremely important it allows me to understand things from their point of view. It is also very rewarding and when hear how I have been able to play a part in helping to improve their lives for the better.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell isn’t just my work place, it's like having a very large second family. Everyone cares about how you are and genuinely shows an interest in you as an individual. It doesn’t matter what your job title is, you're treated in the same caring way.
What do you do away from the office?
When I'm not at work, I love to spend time gardening and creating bespoke items for my home.
"Irwin Mitchell have helped me get financial support that I wouldn’t of been able to get on my own. Victoria McLean in particular has helped me through a very difficult stage of my life and through to what I’m hoping is the other side of it. Would recommend them to anyone." - Client
"Victoria McLean has been absolutely brilliant in handling my AFCS claim. She has been nothing but professional and genuinely committed to achieving the best result possible for me... I was kept regularly updated and never felt like I was out of the loop or just another client... Of course there is a fee but it’s been worth every penny. I have no reservation in recommending Irwin Mitchell after my experience with Victoria." - Client
