I am an Associate Solicitor in the Divorce and Family team in Birmingham.
I work in all areas of family law, with a focus on high net worth divorce cases. I also have experience with disputes over child arrangements.
I advise clients and guide them through a difficult time in their lives, making sure they feel supported and informed. I enjoy getting to know my clients and understanding their needs. This helps me guide them through the process as efficiently as possible.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I love learning and understanding how and why things happen the way they do. My family always commented on my ability to form my own opinion on everything, and I would never accept what I was told unless there was evidence to back it up. To their annoyance, this got me out of a lot of things I didn’t want to do. It also inspired me to become a lawyer.
This, combined with my inability to stop talking makes family law a perfect fit for me!
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The separation of a family is one of the worst experiences we can go through. Losing the life you knew can be horrifying. Helping people through this part of their life, and to see it as a new beginning that they can be excited about, is the most rewarding part of my role.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I spend my time outside of work with my family. I enjoy reading, long walks in the country and learning new skills.
"I have been delighted with the level and speed of service I have received from my Solicitor Tara Smith and paralegal Faye Wilson throughout the lengthy process of my matrimonial case. The whole process took place under the COVID-19 restrictions and also involved negotiating the financial outcome for 3 properties. What was most impressive for me was the fact that any communications I had with Tara was swiftly, clearly and concisely responded to. I was made to feel a participant rather than an onlooker. I would not hesitate to recommend Tara as a Matrimonial expert and a pleasure to work with under very difficult and emotional circumstances." - 5* Trustpilot review
