Over my 20-plus years in litigation, I have successfully resolved hundreds of contentious probate disputes, including several high-profile matters reported in the media.

My notable work encompasses complex trust disputes, challenges to the validity of Wills, proprietary estoppel matters, and claims under The Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

My reported cases include:

• Fellner v Cleall [2021] EWHC 3599 (Ch)
  This case involved an Executrix’s refusal to stand down and be replaced by an independent administrator. Her refusal resulted in a hearing where a costs order was made against her.
• Rochford v Rochford [2021] WTLR 951
  An adult child claim under The Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. She was successful and received a large award, interest and costs against the defendant.
• Elliott v Simmonds [2016] 732 (Ch) (Substantive case)
  An application to uphold the Will of her late partner. The client was successful and the Will was upheld. We then made an application for costs.
• Elliott Simmonds [2016] EWHC 962 (Ch) (costs)
  The costs part of the case and a notable case in this field, often reported as the first case awarding costs against a ‘passive defendant’.

I pride myself on working hard for clients to ensure they get the best outcome for their claim. Most of my cases are resolved by way of mediation as opposed to court proceedings and I estimate a 90% success rate in settling matters through mediation.

As a qualified mediator, I can offer clients a broader range of expertise. This means they benefit from a flexible strategy and greater insight into resolving disputes. However, where court proceedings are necessary, I leave no stone unturned in pursuing a successful outcome for my clients.
