Biography
I am an executive search professional and joined Irwin Mitchell in September 2022 as Head of the Partner Hiring Team.
We are a market facing team, focused on delivering a high level of service to stakeholders across the business. The team undertakes Search mandates, as well as other direct sourcing strategies, to maximise cost savings and quality with an emphasis on a detailed, diligent and research based methodology. We target some of the leading talent in the UK in order to deliver to the strategic growth plan, through the recruitment of individuals and teams, with the outcome being responsible, sustainable and profitable growth of the Irwin Mitchell business.
The team also seeks to engage stakeholders within the Irwin Mitchell business but also the wider market on key topics such as Diversity & Inclusion as well as others through Thought Leadership.
I have been a Search professional since giving up legal practice in 2007, having previously qualified as Barrister and being called to Lincoln’s Inn in 2006. I worked for various leading legal search firms in London, as well establishing my own business for 5 years, where I focused on Search & Selection, Due Diligence and law firm consultancy, including M&A, for some of the world’s leading law firms looking to expand in the UK or into Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
What inspired you to join Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell has always had a reputation for being different and doing things differently. Hiring a ‘headhunter’ from a Search firm is further testament to that! In addition, the firm has always been known to have a strong culture, a good place to work and a diverse and inclusive workforce.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I am able to contribute, with my team, to the strategic growth of the Irwin Mitchell business which creates pressure but is also professionally satisfying.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
It is a forward thinking and progressive law firm keen to differentiate itself in the market. The diversity of the business and people is also fascinating and last but not least, I get to work with a great team of talented people who keep me on my toes.
What do you do away from the office?
I spend a lot of my time with my wife and young daughters. I am a long suffering and devoted fan of Southampton FC as well as being very keen on many other sports. I am also a car enthusiast and a part time political heckler.
