Biography
I specialise in working with families (often with international connections) who need advice in relation to their assets. This will typically involve a number of focused discussions regarding key family concerns and objectives after which I work with the families to devise an overall estate, succession and tax planning strategy which will address those concerns and meet the objectives which have been identified.
Key highlights
I regularly work with internationally mobile clients who need cross-jurisdictional estate, succession and tax planning advice. Consequently, many of my key career highlights have involved long-term projects which have involved close collaboration with advisers in other countries. One of my most recent highlights was working for a client who has assets in the UK, Jersey, Australia, Singapore and Thailand!
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Although I have just started at the firm, I have been hugely impressed with the warm and personal welcome I have received, I also know a lot about the firm from a range of contacts and I am delighted to be able to be part of it!
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I particularly enjoy gradually getting to know different family members and building a rapport with them which will assist with providing ongoing guidance and assistance to the family as a whole in the months and years which lie ahead. It is such an honour to be invited to be part of wider family discussions regarding outlook, priorities and challenges.
What inspired you to get into law?
For me, the attraction of the law has always been the way it impacts on individuals and, by extension, society. I love the way in which the law evolves and, of course, the intellectual challenge of staying on top of changes and ensuring that my clients are consistently well-informed and advised.
What do you do away from the office?
As I live in the Kent countryside with my family and a very cute cockapoo, it is inevitable that I spend a lot of time on walks... and gardening!
