I acted for the successful third Defendant in Equiom v Velarde and on appeal in Velarde v Velarde, a trust dispute relating to an Isle of Man settlement which required the Court to determine the meaning of words in the Will of one of the Littlewoods Pools family.

Which clients do you usually work with?

My client base is not limited by geography; I work with clients regionally, nationally and internationally on a broad range of disputes.

I act for executors (whether they are non-professionals or professionals such as solicitors or accountants), beneficiaries, excluded beneficiaries, trustees and charities, each of whom might have different priorities and objectives.

How do you help your clients achieve the best outcome?

At the start of a case, we can’t always be certain how the dispute might evolve and what evidence might come to light, but once I have been instructed to act by a client my approach involves thinking ahead to the potential avenues of enquiry and any risks which might arise over the course of the litigation. This gives clients advance insight into how the case might develop and how their prospects of success might be affected.

This means that clients have an early indication of their options and can make pragmatic decisions.

What can I expect from my first meeting with you?

I appreciate that contacting a solicitor about private family matters can seem daunting. I offer my clients a private, judgement-free space to discuss their situation.
