Biography
I work in Irwin Mitchell's Ministry of Defence team in Cambridge. I act exclusively for Service Personnel who have sustained serious injury either on or off duty. I have around 20 years’ experience dealing with a variety of work, including civilian and military workplace injuries. But my passion has always laid with Armed Forces work.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
There are many reasons I like working at Irwin Mitchell but what stands out for me is the genuine passion and dedication within the whole of the Military Team that injured personnel deserve the very best support, advice and compensation to reflect their commitment to serving their country.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is being given the opportunity to give something back to the men and women who sacrifice so much for their country. When faced with adversity, their resilience and sense of humour never ceases to amaze me.
What inspired you to get into law?
From as young as primary school age I was drawn to the idea of a career in law. The Armed Forces has always been an integral party of my family history, in particular, my Husband served with The Royal Horse Artillery for over 10 years, including a Frontline tour of Iraq. This really inspired me to use the skills, knowledge and experience I have to support our troops.
What do you do away from the office?
Away from the office I enjoy training at my local boxing club. I tend to measure my success on the amount of fun I have rather than speed, fitness and talent!
