I am a paralegal in the family law team, based in the Chichester office.
I joined Irwin Mitchell’s family team in 2015, after a year working in the firm’s commercial real estate team. I'm an associate member of CILEx and am studying to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive.
I work alongside the other fee earners in the South Coast region dealing with all aspects of family law, relationship breakdown, and children law including:
- Financial settlements
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Child arrangements
- Separation agreements
- Cohabitation agreements
- Domestic violence non-molestation and occupation orders.
I adopt a sensitive but practical approach and am passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for our clients in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
What inspired you to get into law?
I wanted a varied career that was challenging, working directly with people. Family law lets me use my knowledge, skills and expertise to guide and support those facing some of their greatest difficulties. In this role, I can directly and positively impact upon their lives.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Often when clients first instruct us, they're feeling vulnerable, overwhelmed, lost and uncertain about their situation or what their future holds. It's incredibly rewarding to guide them through these challenging times and processes and help them discover the light at the end of the tunnel.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell is a firm where their people and clients are at the heart of all that they do.
The national family team consists of some of the most highly-regarded lawyers in the industry with a combined wealth of knowledge and expertise.
I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of a firm which offers on-going training and development to its employees. It means we can consistently offer the best support and service to our clients, as a team and firm.
What do you do away from the office?
I have a passion for interior design. I love decorating and am partial to a spot of DIY!
When I haven't got a paintbrush in my hand, I enjoy fitness, travel and socialising with friends and family.
"The family and I are so grateful for everything that you have done for us, it really has given some real closure and freedom to really get on with life. It's great to know that I have some protection in case the worst should happen later down the road." - 5* Trustpilot review
“I have been guided by Dipal Patel and Siobhan Simpson over a number of years in a delicate personal legal matter. They have been incredibly kind and patient with me. At no time did they rush or pressure me into agreeing anything that I wasn't comfortable with. They listened, clearly advised and helped me reach a happy conclusion. Both woman have been incredibly supportive at all stages. I have trusted them and felt safe that they had all of my families best interest at heart. I can't thank them enough. Fabulous service from two very caring professional individuals.”– 5* Trustpilot review
"I was recommended to Siobhan Simpson as a Paralegal at Irwin Mitchell for my divorce. I’ve been 100% satisfied with her understanding, reassurance & experience in this dreadful time. I would recommend anyone to see Siobhan Simpson, she’s wonderful" - Mrs C, client
"Both Dipal Patel and Siobhan Simpson worked on my case which was an involved and financially complicated divorce. I cannot recommend them both highly enough for their work, their attention and how they managed the situation in a very sensitive manner. The process was calmly explained, my expectations of the outcome were well managed and I was looked after extremely well over a long period of time. Dipal and Siobhan are a formidable team and it was a privilege to have them work on my behalf" - Mrs S, client
