Samantha Burnard

I joined Irwin Mitchell in 2019 after qualifying as a Solicitor and work as part of our specialist CICA team helping clients who have been victims of violent crime.  I also have experience of dealing with CICA Appeals at the CICA Tribunal.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

Definitely my colleagues in our immediate CICA team and wider Serious Injury team.  We all support each other and there is always someone on hand to help if needed.  We work in a very inclusive and friendly environment.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding thing is knowing that we have done a great job for a client and ensuring that their injuries and circumstances have been recognised by the CICA, especially in circumstances where a claim may have been refused initially or when we have successfully increased an award for a client.

What inspired you to get into law?

I have always wanted to help people and felt getting into law was a good way to do that and give back to others who may not be able to deal with the legal process by themselves.

What do you do away from the office?

I spend time with family and friends and like to go to concerts especially ones that are rock and blues related.  I'm also a fan of trying out new places to eat and getting into a good TV show or film.
