Saffron Burgess

 I advise on all aspects of family law, including divorce, financial matters arising upon divorce, disputes relating to children, injunctive orders (Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders) and disputes relating to unmarried/cohabiting couples on the breakdown of their relationship.

I have a particular interest and specialism in complex disputes relating to children and am an active member of our Complex Children Team of Excellence and Domestic Abuse Team of Excellence.  I advise on all types of children matters, including those with complicating factors, such as domestic abuse, child abuse, alienating behaviours, fabricated and induced illness (FII), drug and alcohol issues, neurodivergent conditions (in parents and children), local authority involvement/child protection issues, abduction and internal and international relocation.  

I am regularly instructed on complex cases, including where court proceedings are issued.  I am particularly skilled in litigated matters, and I am tenacious in my pursuit of the right outcome for my clients and their children.  

I am dedicated to providing clear, strategic advice, with an empathetic approach to ensure that my clients feel supported and heard at every stage of their case.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding part of my job is when I am able to make a tangible difference to my client's lives and, where relevant, the lives of their children.  

What inspired you to get into law?

I am a natural problem solver and I wanted to help people.  I love working with clients and being able to support them through challenging times.  I chose family law because I am particularly passionate about and interested in the dynamics of family life and I wanted to use my skills and knowledge to make a difference.
