Biography
I am a Solicitor in the Lifestyle and Estate Planning team at the Reading office. I regularly assist clients with the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney as well as applications for Grants of Probate or Letters of Administration so that an estate or trust can be administered. Tax planning and asset protection are key parts of my role and I also help clients who need to obtain a Deputyship Order through the Court of Protection.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I am really impressed by the level of support at Irwin Mitchell (at the Reading office and nationwide). Everyone is approachable, friendly and the environment is very collaborative. There is a real sense of team spirit.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Being able to make a legal process simpler for clients is very important to me, especially where they are going through a tough time in their lives. Knowing (and sometimes seeing) that I have made a difference, no matter how big or small, is the most rewarding part of my role.
What inspired you to get into law?
At college, I studied A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Business Studies but chose Law alongside these subjects since it sounded like an interesting course. I ended up enjoying the Law course more than the others and this led me to study for a Law degree at university. There is a lot of Mathematics in my job so I have managed to combine these two passions!
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, long walks in nature and having trips to the cinema, wildlife parks, theme parks and the beach. I take part in sports at my local leisure centre, including swimming, tennis, badminton and group cycling.
