Chambers and Partners
Every family law dispute is unique. Some involve complex business structures or international assets, while others centre on arrangements for children or preserving pre-acquired assets or future wealth. As a Resolution-accredited partner and mediator in the Manchester Family Law team, I help individuals navigate these issues with practical and strategic advice tailored to their circumstances.
I practise exclusively in family law and regularly act on high-value financial remedy proceedings, many involving cross-border issues and complex ownership structures. I’m also highly experienced in cases involving children, cohabitation disputes, and the preparation of pre-nuptial agreements.

I act for a variety of different clients, including:
Many of my clients are referred to me by former clients or peers from the family law community.
I’ve been involved in many high-profile and complex cases, most notably Topping v Topping [2008] EWCA Civ 1142.
Every client defines success differently, so my role is to understand what matters most to them at the outset and then build a strategy around those objectives. In family disputes, the best outcome isn’t always achieved through court proceedings.
Where possible, I help clients resolve issues through negotiation, mediation and other forms of non-court dispute resolution. This helps to preserve relationships while reducing both conflict and costs. My focus is always on finding the most effective route to a resolution that protects their future and, where children are involved, promotes their welfare.
When a negotiated solution is not possible, I provide clear, pragmatic advice and robust representation to protect my clients' interests. Throughout the process, I focus on helping clients make informed decisions, maintain perspective during what’s often an emotionally challenging time, and ultimately secure an outcome that is both legally sound and sustainable for their family in the longer term.
I believe clients achieve the best results when they’re well informed, supported, and empowered to make confident decisions at every stage of the process.
Clients often come to me at one of the most challenging times in their lives, and they need someone who’ll take the time to understand not only the legal issues but also what really matters to them and their family. My priority is to understand your circumstances, concerns, and objectives.
Family issues can feel overwhelming, but my role is to help bring clarity, reduce uncertainty, and guide you towards the best possible outcome for you and your family.
I will explain the legal and non-legal options available, answer any questions you may have, and provide clear, realistic advice about the next steps. Whether your matter is likely to be resolved through mediation, negotiation or court proceedings, my aim is to ensure you leave the meeting with a better understanding of your position, the process ahead, and a clear plan for moving forward.
By the end of the meeting, I want you to feel informed, reassured and confident about the way forward. You can expect clear advice, an honest assessment of your options, and a discussion about the most effective route to resolution.
