Pete Maguire

As a commercial lawyer, I specialise in the drafting and negotiation of outsourcing and commercial contracts in the technology, manufacturing, security, logistics, catering and support services sectors across a broad range and size of clients, with a particular specialism in defence matters (I carry security clearance).

My role is to help my clients to:

• Maximise opportunities
• Minimise risk
• Maintain and improve critical business relationships.

Spending over 12 years working in industry, coupled with my “in-house” experience, I have knowledge in insurance, risk management and corporate governance as well as mediation, property, and company secretarial matters. This “in-house” background (I worked for 12 years in the in-house legal team at Compass, the FTSE Top 40 catering and support services group, prior to which I undertook a secondment with Bass Brewers (now Molson Coors)) taught me to focus on a client-facing, solution driven approach to legal advice, and I make a point of using plain English and not legal jargon.
