Leeds Sets Employment Growth Standard In Q1 2018

“The current situation in Yorkshire looks fairly rosy and in the short term this is expected to continue. “Leeds has performed particularly strongly for employment growth and this is set to continue until the end of the year. Financial and business services account for 38% of total output in Leeds and so will be behind a large proportion of the employment growth, while the city has a large manufacturing sector that employs over 30,000 people. We are absolutely delighted to extend this relationship and take it to a new level ahead of an exciting period in the Playhouse’s development and at a time when access to the arts and entertainment becomes more central to the debate about city living. “The wider Quarry Hill development project is likely to be one of the most high profile developments in Leeds City Centre over the next two or three years and so to play a key role in facilitating the redevelopment of the Playhouse is extremely exciting and this latest agreement will raise our profile within the city. The theatre is looking to engage more closely with the business community in Leeds as part of its future strategy and this fits neatly with our own ambitions within the Yorkshire region.”
