I am a Senior Associate in the workplace illness team in Leeds. I graduated from The University of Birmingham in 2000, before returning home to Leeds and qualifying as a solicitor in 2004.
I have specialised in asbestos related disease claims from an early stage in my career, with a particular interest in mesothelioma.
My aim is to provide a sensitive, caring and supportive approach to what is a very difficult time for clients. I strive to deliver swift and efficient legal advice in order to obtain the best possible outcome in the shortest space of time.
"We engaged Irwin Mitchell to pursue a claim on behalf of my father-in-law, who tragically died from mesothelioma. At all stages of the process the team demonstrated exceptional skills, experience, professionalism and empathy. I would strongly recommend Irwin Mitchell to anyone who is thinking of pursuing a compensation claim for Mesothelioma or any other occupational illness and injury." – Client
Being able to offer support to people at a time when they are at their most vulnerable and to work tirelessly to deliver justice for them and their families.
Being able to work as part of an experienced and dedicated team of specialists who constantly have the best interests of their clients at the forefront of their minds.
I'm an avid lover of sport, particularly football, rugby and cricket. Unfortunately, my involvement is more armchair than active these days, but I am lucky that my young family keep me busy enough to burn off (most of) the required daily calories.
“This is sadly yet another case in which an individual has been affected by their exposure to asbestos decades after it initially took place.
We are urging anyone that may have worked with Eileen to come forward and let us know what the working conditions were like so we can get her the answers and justice she needs.”
“Brian’s case is yet another terrible reminder of the huge impact that asbestos exposure can have, with the consequences only becoming clear many decades after contact with the material is thought to have taken place.
Not only did Brian suffer from the terrible effects of mesothelioma, he also had to watch his wife Doreen struggle with the disease before passing away 10 years prior to his own diagnosis.
The family have been through a traumatic time and while nothing will bring Brian back, we hope this settlement will provide some comfort and make them proud to have been able to recover costs for a fantastic charity like St Gemma’s Hospice.
The site is one of many which carried out fantastic work to support people in their final days and we hope these funds will be a welcome boost.”
“Unfortunately, in my line of work I see many people that have suffered the devastating effects of asbestos exposure, most many years after the initial exposure took place.
“Mesothelioma is a usually fatal disease which results in a great deal of suffering for victims and their loved ones, and sadly Rita did not survive long enough to get justice. We are determined to get answers for Stephen and find out where his wife was exposed to asbestos and if more could have been done to help her.
“Action Mesothelioma Day gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of the seriousness of the condition and help others recognise the potential causes.”
“Local hospices do a fantastic job in caring for people that are going through terribly difficult times, as well providing support for their families, and is great to be able to give something back to them.
Kirkwood Hospice cared for Derek during the last week of his life, and his family are grateful for everything that was done to make his time there as comfortable as possible. Managing to recover the costs is a way of them saying thank you.”
