I am an associate solicitor advocate specialising in medical negligence claims. I've worked in the area of medical negligence since 2010.
I'm a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and I have Higher Rights of Audience, which lets me represent my clients in the Highest Courts in England and Wales.
I help people across the entire field of medical negligence including:
- Delays in diagnosis
- Spinal injuries
- Surgical negligence
- Birth injuries.
I have a particular interest in cases relating to ‘never events’, fatalities and inquests, ophthalmology, and sepsis.
Recently I have had to consult Irwin Mitchell for advice regarding medical negligence. The service received from Nicola Ashton was excellent and guidance was given which was both clarifying and helpful. I would certainly recommend this company and especially Nicola as I feel that any clients would be getting 100% care and advice. – 5* Trust Pilot Review
"... I really feel that Nicola went above and beyond in her efforts to achieve the greatest possible outcome for me. Nicola always made my case feel personal... Communication was always swift and detailed, and I always felt in complete comfort that my case was being steered correctly by Nicola... In addition... from a tactical perspective, Nicola always seemed to manage my case astutely and at all times gave me a sense that we were in an advantageous position... My case reached a fantastically successful conclusion for myself and my family and it truly is the result of the excellent guidance and handling of Nicola Ashton... I cannot praise, or recommend her, highly enough." – 5* Trust Pilot Review
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I've always had a passion for helping others. I wanted a career which involved helping people as well as putting my reading, writing and analytical skills to good use. A career in the legal industry was the natural choice.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The law is a fascinating field of study and it is most rewarding when I can make a positive impact for my clients. I enjoy speaking with each and every client and I give them the emotional support and legal assistance they may need.
In particular, I thrive in obtaining life changing outcomes. Securing compensation is only part of the story. I ensure that, where possible, my clients' rehabilitative and care needs are also met, not only now, but in the future.
