Biography
I am a Paralegal in the Medical Negligence Team based in our Birmingham Office. I have worked at Irwin Mitchell since 2022.
My day-to-day role involves assisting Solicitors, Associates and Partners in my team on a variety of claim types, including but not limited to:
- Cancer Misdiagnosis
- Birth Injury
- Cerebral Palsy
- Fatal and Inquests
- Misdiagnosis and Delay in Diagnosis of Serious Conditions
- Sepsis Negligence
- Stroke Misdiagnosis
- Ophthalmic Negligence
- GP Negligence
- Failure to Prevent Suicide
I also have substantial experience dealing with group actions.
As part of my role, I am trained in, and frequently deal with, new medical negligence enquires across the department.
Outside of my clinical negligence practice, I am a member of the Irwin Mitchell French Desk where I am involved in the international ambitions and practices of the firm as well as being able to utilise my French legal and language skills obtained though my LLB Law and French Law studies.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I firmly believe that law is as much about people as it is about the letter of the law and the legal process. At Irwin Mitchell, colleagues are encouraged to add a personal touch to our practice, meaning that we can offer a more accessible and supportive environment for clients and colleagues alike. It has been a privilege to work alongside colleagues who share my core values and commitment to making the law as accessible as possible to those who need it.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
In my role, I work closely with clients whose lives have been drastically changed as a result of negligent medical care. Although the impact of the negligence cannot be truly undone, the most rewarding aspect of my role is being able to help my clients get the care that they need to create a life which resembles their pre-injury life as closely as possible.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted to pursue a career which will allow me to use both my academic and analytical skills, and my personal capacity to create meaningful relationships. Knowing this, pursuing a career in the law – particularly personal legal services – has always been my goal.
Since starting my legal career at Irwin Mitchell, I have valued being able to achieve my career goals and thoroughly enjoy every day that I can spend working closely with clients and seeing the impact of my work on their lives.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work, I love to embrace the arts. There is nothing that I love more than going to the theatre or a gig! On a normal evening, I can either be found cosying up with a book or playing video games with my fiancé.
