Biography

I am an Associate Chartered Legal Executive within the Crime and Regulatory team here at Irwin Mitchell.

I have a strong background in criminal litigation and Magistrates' Court civil appeals, representing individuals through investigations, prosecutions and court proceedings.

I specialise in defending individuals accused of road traffic offences, including speeding, drink-driving and drug-driving offences, careless driving, and cases where clients are facing penalty points, disqualification or the loss of their driving licence.

I have particular expertise in assisting individuals whose driving licences have been revoked, suspended or refused by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) on medical grounds. I support clients throughout the process of challenging DVLA decisions, obtaining and presenting medical evidence, pursuing appeals, and seeking the restoration of driving licences where appropriate.

I also represent Interested Persons at inquests, advising clients throughout the coronial process and ensuring their interests are effectively represented.

In addition, I advise professionals facing regulatory and disciplinary matters.

Alongside this work, I advise on alcohol and entertainment licensing, gambling matters and anti-money laundering compliance.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my role is helping individuals navigate what can often be some of the most challenging and stressful periods of their lives. Whether I am supporting someone facing criminal proceedings, challenging a DVLA decision that affects their independence and livelihood, or guiding a client through an inquest, I take great satisfaction in providing clear advice, practical support and achieving the best possible outcome. Being able to make a positive difference for clients at a difficult time is what motivates me most.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

What I enjoy most about working at Irwin Mitchell is that we're able to help people with so many different issues. Clients often come to us with one problem, but knowing I can connect them with colleagues who have expertise in other areas means we can support them more fully. It's reassuring to know that, whatever challenges a client is facing, there is usually someone within the firm who can help.

What do you do away from the office?

Outside the office, I'm a proud mum to two wonderful girls, so life is usually busy and full of adventure. We love spending time outdoors with our cocker spaniel, Luna, and living in the New Forest means we're never short of places to explore. Whether it's walks, bike rides, beach days, paddleboarding or kayaking, we enjoy making the most of the great outdoors.

Testimonials

Mr Davis, client - Throughout our time working together, your professionalism was of the highest standard. Your attention to detail and fast, comprehensive advice guided us through the entire process. Furthermore, when we were feeling particularly low, your support gave us a much-needed lift.

Mr Andrews, client - The Service I received was excellent, very helpful and honest. Very professionally done, any questions were answered thoroughly. And I would wholeheartedly recommend your service.

Mr H, client - I can't fault the service that you provided - for me, it was the perfect balance of helping me understand the issue and arguments you were putting forward, whilst providing clear recommendations of the next steps.  I work with a lot of lawyers in my day job - and some don't tread the line very well. Ultimately, I felt that it was your experience that lead to the reinstatement of my licence - knowing both the legal arguments but also the tactics that you needed to employ to have them reopen the case.

Mrs B, client's mother - Having struggled to get DVLA to re-issue my daughter's driving licence due to a visual field defect, after 15 months of trying, we approached Irwin Mitchell to assist. Loren was very helpful throughout the process. She was able to provide useful advice based on similar cases, was very knowledgeable about the rules and legislation and explained the alternatives of ways to proceed. We were given hope that we could actually succeed to get the licence back after so many previous disappointments. Loren was able to give us names of ophthalmogists that could help provide a supporting report.  We had to appeal to the Magistrates' Court, and Loren dealt with all the administration in relation to this, which was a process we had no experience of. Once the relevant reports were submitted, Loren was prompt in chasing up DVLA for replies. We are really grateful to Loren for successfully getting the licence back.

Mr N, client - Loren Hills was first-class: accessible, helpful, clear on strategy, and very rapid in achieving the desired outcome. An all-round high-quality service which I am delighted to recommend.
