Biography
I’m an Associate in the Court of Protection team in Irwin Mitchell’s Newcastle office. I manage the property and financial affairs of clients with brain injuries.
What inspired you to get into law?
I’ve always enjoyed working in customer-facing roles and was interested in law at school. When I applied for university I couldn’t think of another career I would rather do.
It was a natural fit for me to apply for a job at Irwin Mitchell after my degree. There is an emphasis on collaborative working and doing the best for our clients. This is everything I’d envisioned when first starting out.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I enjoy building close relationships with clients and their families. The nature of Court of Protection work means I’m involved with clients long-term, which requires earning their trust and respect.
I also love that my role enables me to help improve my client’s lives. I’m able to be part of their journey to regain independence after their brain injury.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
That I’m able to be involved in so many good causes outside of my day job as a solicitor. At Irwin Mitchell, giving back to our community is such a big part of our culture and it’s important to me that I’m able to support local charities through my role in Irwin Mitchell Charity Foundation.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy swimming and the gym, travelling, exploring new places and countries, and eating out.
