Biography
I am a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in London. I joined Irwin Mitchell in 2024 after qualifying as a solicitor.
I run a wide and varied caseload of medical negligence claims including claims relating to various types of injuries suffered. This includes claims for injuries including amputation, orthopaedic injuries, gynaecological injuries, fatal injuries, delays in diagnosis, cancer claims, visual loss and more.
I also assist senior members of the team with their caseloads which involve injuries relating to sepsis, birth injuries, amputation, wrongful birth and more.
I completed my solicitor's training while also taking the Solicitor's Qualifying Exams (SQE). My training was specialised in medical negligence during which I assisted on a wide variety of cases including maximum severity birth injury cases and also ran a small caseload involving surgical negligence and prescription errors.
I have also volunteered on the helpline for a medical advice charity, Actions Against Medical Accident (AvMA), the UK charity for patient safety and justice where I helped advise patients and their families who have suffered injuries as a result of medical negligence on their options.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Our team puts client care first and collaborates well to share a huge wealth of knowledge and experience which we can all draw upon to achieve the best outcomes for our clients. Irwin Mitchell also has strong relationships with charities which gives us all countless opportunities to do our bit.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Being able to assist in obtaining answers as well as apologies for my clients who have suffered injuries through no fault of their own. It is extremely rewarding to see how the compensation we obtain for clients makes a positive difference in their everyday lives.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted a job in which I can help others and make a demonstrable difference in their lives. I was drawn to medical negligence law as it is a fascinating area in which law and medicine mix, and in which every client and every case will be different. Also, my clients are usually going through a devastating part of their lives, with a lot of change, so I am motivated to get answers and improve their situation where I can. Unfortunately, we can never undo what has been done but I am motivated to try and do my best to assist my clients with obtaining compensation to put them in a better position.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of the office will usually find me at the gym or in a yoga class. I also love spending time with my friends and family and am a complete animal lover so love spending time playing with my cats.
