Biography
I joined Irwin Mitchell in 2011 after completing my Law Degree and Legal Practice Course at Northumbria University. I started my career in the Court of Protection department as an Administrator, progressing to Paralegal in 2013, Trainee Solicitor in 2016 and then qualifying in March 2018.
I am now an Associate Solicitor in our Court Of Protection team based in our Newcastle office. Under a Professional Deputyship, I manage the Property and Affairs of those who lack the mental capacity to do so themselves. I also support those with capacity to manage their own Property and Affairs under a Personal Injury Trust.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
Having a plumber as a father and a headteacher as a mother, people often used to ask me what inspired me to pursue a career in law. The answer is I enjoy helping others in times of need.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
Working with like-minded colleagues, who are nationally recognised experts in the field to help improve the quality life of those who have suffered a life changing experience.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
As a nationally acclaimed law firm, I feel exceptionally proud and privileged to have progressed my legal career at Irwin Mitchell. Despite being a national firm, our regional offices have a real ’local’ feel which makes the Irwin Mitchell experience a good one for both our clients and employees.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I enjoy travelling, spending time with family and friends (not forgetting my Maine Coon cat, Claude) and trying new cuisines.
