Kerry Gulliver

I am a Senior Paralegal specialising in medical negligence since joining the Medical Negligence team in Birmingham in early 2012.  

I have assisted on multiple cases over the years, helping clients in pursuing a wide range of medical claims.

Since early 2023, I have acted on behalf of Claimants who have suffered a delay in diagnosis and treatment (such as cancer), orthopaedic injuries, gynecological injuries and fatal claims, and I specialise in acting for Claimants who have suffered a stillbirth and neonatal death.

I continue to assist senior solicitors on cases involving birth injury, brain injury and amputation.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

The ability to help others and make a difference. It is a privilege when a client puts their trust and faith in me to pursue a claim on their behalf.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

Helping clients to achieve settlements and getting the answers that they need to enable them to move forward with their life

What inspired you to get into law?

From a young age I had an overwhelming sense of justice and wanted to help others. 

At the age of 15 I wanted to be a lawyer. Having worked within the medical profession early in my career, the next natural step was medical negligence, a perfect combination of law and medicine.

What do you do away from the office?

Away from the office I enjoy travelling, especially with my family.  I also like to run, and I ran Paris Marathon in April 2025. I have also taken part in the Great North Run (half-marathon), Wolf Run and Tough Mudder (the list goes on).  

When it comes to relaxation I love to cook, and a walk anywhere in the countryside or along the beach with our family dogs is my happy place.
