I am a Solicitor based in the Medical Negligence team in London. Since qualifying I have spent time growing my own varied caseload of claims and have experience of a wide range of clinical negligence claims. These include:
- Delays in diagnosis/treatment
- Spinal Injuries
Before joining Irwin Mitchell I worked as a paralegal for the MDDUS (The Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland). This is a UK-wide defence organisation which provides legal support for healthcare professionals. During my time there I worked on Inquests, clinical negligence claims and provided general healthcare advice.
For a time I also worked for Kingsley Napley Solicitors, focusing on high value and complex clinical negligence claims. Following this, I joined McMillan Williams as a paralegal in 2014, later qualifying as a solicitor there too. I have also volunteered for a medical advice charity, Actions Against Medical Accident (AvMA), the UK charity for patient safety and justice.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I enjoyed working as a paralegal and specifically enjoyed working in medical negligence litigation. The cases can be both high value and complex, involving a number of experts which I find very interesting.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
Being able to help secure favourable settlements for clients who find themselves in emotionally difficult situations when dealing with life changing events.

“I can't recommend Richard Kayser and his team including Katie Ebbs, Louise Halbert and Ruth Haspray highly enough. It has been an extremely complicated legal case during an incredibly traumatic for our family, but Richard and his team have been sensitive, considerate and kind as well as legally rigorous and professional. Richard and his team have secured Danny a settlement which gives us the most important thing in the world - peace of mind when it comes to his financial future…
…Thanks to Richard and his team, Danny's future can be so much better than it would have been. We will always be grateful for what they have done for us.” - 5* Trustpilot review
