• Cancellation of Leave to Remain in the UK: 

  We represented a client in a high-profile judicial review challenging the Home Office’s decision to cancel her leave to remain on public good grounds following controversial social media activity.

  The case explored the balance between freedom of expression, national security, and human rights protections under Articles 8 and 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

  Over 12 months, we managed complex litigation, urgent procedural issues, and coordinated closely with leading counsel. The Upper Tribunal ultimately overturned the Home Office’s decision, restoring our client’s immigration status and reinforcing important protections for freedom of expression.

   

• Adult Dependent Relative: 

  These applications provide a stark illustration of just how restrictive the UK immigration system has become. Home Office data indicates that only approximately 4% of Adult Dependent Relative applications are successful, underlining the exceptionally high threshold applicants must meet.

  Despite these challenges, I have achieved success in this complex area. In one notable case, our client had previously lived with her family overseas. Following a series of significant life events, her family relocated to the UK, leaving her without adequate care in her home country.

  We were able to demonstrate compellingly that:

  • There was no suitable or accessible care available locally to meet her long-term needs
  • She required ongoing personal support due to her circumstances
  • Her UK-based family member was fully able to provide appropriate accommodation and financial support without recourse to public funds.

  On this basis, we secured a successful outcome, navigating one of the most challenging routes within the Immigration Rules.

   

• Domestic violence: 

  We acted for a high-profile client in a complex domestic abuse immigration case, securing her immigration status following the breakdown of her relationship.

  The matter was particularly challenging due to the absence of traditional evidence such as police reports or medical records, a common issue for survivors of abuse.

  We developed a carefully tailored evidential strategy and robust legal representations to demonstrate that the relationship had broken down as a direct result of domestic violence. By combining legal expertise with a sensitive, client-focused approach, we successfully secured a positive outcome for our client.

   

• Preventing the revocation of a domiciliary care provider’s sponsor licence:

  We acted for a high-stakes sponsor licence matter involving a domiciliary care provider who was sponsoring over 50 workers on its sponsorship licence. The Home Office sought to revoke its sponsorship licence. This placed both the business and its sponsored workforce at immediate risk, with significant potential for operational disruption and reputational damage.

  Faced with complex compliance allegations, we undertook a detailed forensic review and delivered substantive representations which secured a favourable outcome preserving the licence and ensuring continuity of business operations.

   

• Advising on corporate structure changes and the immigration implications:

  We advised a multinational organisation on retaining its sponsor licence following a Home Office compliance issue that threatened its ability to employ sponsored workers. After a global rebrand, the Home Office raised concerns about a historic corporate restructuring and gave the business just 20 days to resolve the matter.

  We quickly prepared a new sponsor licence application, supported by detailed legal representations demonstrating that an administrative oversight should not affect the outcome.

  The application was approved, allowing the company to sponsor a key executive and maintain business continuity, highlighting our strategic and commercially focused approach to corporate immigration matters.
