Medical Negligence  |  London

“She's a heavyweight in the nicest possible way: she fights hard and does a good job, always.” – Chambers & Partners

I specialise in representing women and children who’ve been injured through negligent treatment while pregnant or during obstetric or gynaecological care. These cases sit at the heart of my clinical negligence work, and I understand that behind every claim is a person coping with trauma and unanswered questions at an incredibly vulnerable time.

In 2026, I was elected to the Executive Committee of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers(APIL). I’m also an Accredited Panel Member for AvMA.

My work in this field was recognised nationally when I was awarded the Law Society Solicitor of the Year Award in 2021. I’m also consistently ranked in two of the UK’s leading legal guides, The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, reflecting not only my legal expertise but the trust placed in me by clients and peers alike. Chambers & Partners refer to me as “a very committed and thoughtful solicitor who prepares cases to the highest standard."

While no legal process can undo what has happened, where negligent treatment can be proven, my goal is to help my clients secure the financial stability they need for the future. Just as importantly, I work to uncover the truth about what went wrong and why, so that clients can move forward with the answers they need.

Before qualifying as a solicitor, I practised for 10 years as a fully registered general nurse. My clinical background gives me a deep, practical understanding of the healthcare industry and the importance of patient safety. It also shaped my interest in consent to treatment (an issue that’s central to so many medical negligence cases) and ultimately led me to pursue a career in law.

That understanding of both the legal and healthcare sectors helps me to analyse complex cases using my legal expertise and knowledge of clinical practice. I enjoy the investigative process and am meticulous in getting to the bottom of what happened, asking the difficult questions, and challenging systems that have failed my clients.

Being able to provide families and individuals with answers, alongside securing the right care, therapies, and long term support for them and/or their child, is deeply rewarding and a responsibility I take very seriously.

At Irwin Mitchell, I’m proud to work in a truly collaborative environment where everyone is focused on achieving the best possible outcome for the client. Our integrated approach means clients also benefit from specialist in house support, including public law & human rights, Court of Protection, and investment teams. This allows us to offer not just legal representation, but a comprehensive service designed to support people at every stage of their journey.
