Biography
I specialise in medical negligence claims. This involves investigating treatment provided by hospitals and/or private practitioners when a client has suffered an injury which could have been avoided.
I help people suffering from a wide range of medical issues including:
- Gynaecological injuries
- Orthopaedic injuries
- Sepsis
- Cancer
- Fatal injuries
- Cosmetic injuries.
I also assist senior members of my team with birth injury and brain injury claims.
What inspired you to get into law?
It's difficult to pinpoint the first time I knew I wanted to be a lawyer. I remember telling my primary school friends that I wanted to be a solicitor, probably not really knowing what that meant. As I got older and went through school, I realised that I could improve my tenacity and love of a good debate into something constructive.
I decided to study Law at University. My parents work in the healthcare industry so unsurprisingly, I was drawn to medical negligence.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Without a doubt it's knowing that I've secured compensation for a client which will enable them to live and enjoy their lives, despite their injuries.
I love coming into the office everyday and being excited to achieve something amazing for my clients.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell is full of very dedicated and passionate people who all share the same determination and drive to get the absolute best they can for their clients. As well as this, we work in a very supportive and sociable environment which makes for a very productive team.
What do you do away from the office?
In my spare time, I enjoy running and yoga. I love getting involved in anything that involves working up a sweat and have taken part in lots of activity challenges to raise money for charity.
