Biography
I’m an Apprentice Paralegal and I’m currently working towards my Level 3 CILEX Paralegal qualification, as well as my CPQ. I support the Bristol serious injury team in dealing with a variety of claims including complex orthopaedic injuries, spinal injuries and brain injuries.
What inspired you to get into law?
After studying law at A-Level I knew it was the field of work I wanted to go into. It was a subject I’d never had the opportunity to study before, and I love that it’s still evolving daily. The topics I studied were relevant, and at the same time incredibly interesting!
I’m also very passionate about justice and helping those around me, so a career in law was the perfect opportunity to allow me to make a difference and support those around me.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is helping clients get the help they need through some of the hardest times in their lives. It’s rewarding to see that the actions we take and relationships we create help to make a significant difference to the lives of our clients and their families. Our clients are always appreciative of our team’s collaborative efforts throughout their case, and often beyond settlement too.
Each Serious Injury case is different, which means no two days are the same! I’m thoroughly enjoying working in the Bristol team, and I find it motivating to be given the opportunity to learn about individuals’ backgrounds and circumstances to allow me to assist the team in helping our clients in the best way possible.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The Serious Injury team at Irwin Mitchell have been incredibly welcoming, and I felt very comfortable within my team shortly after starting. I was only 18 when I started at Irwin Mitchell. Despite being nervous about starting in a full-time working environment, I know I can approach any of my colleagues for help and they’d be more than happy to help me!
Irwin Mitchell are supporting me through completion of my Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship and CILEx CPQ qualification. I hope to progress further into my career after I complete these.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work I enjoy cooking and baking for my family, and socialising with friends.
I volunteer weekly with my local Cub Scout pack, so in the summer I often spend my weekends camping and going on walks to explore new places!
