I specialise in representing both adults and children who have sustained catastrophic injuries including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and serious orthopaedic injuries.
I endeavour to obtain interim payments for my clients as soon as possible in order to ensure that funds are available from an early stage, thereby enabling them to access the treatment, rehabilitation and support that they need.
I have enjoyed crime novels and crime dramas from a young age. Although criminal law couldn’t be much further from what I do now, that was probably the point at which my interest was first piqued.
It’s my clients and their families that inspire me on a daily basis. We see what they go through and how strong and resilient people can be and there’s no better motivation to do everything we can to help and support them.
I enjoy meeting my clients and helping to guide and assist them through an incredibly stressful and overwhelming time. We often meet our clients and their families when they are feeling most vulnerable and the most rewarding point of a case is seeing the difference that we can make to their lives.
I enjoy sampling Bristol’s array of local eateries and attempting to cook up a storm in the kitchen. To balance it out, I (when the mood suits) enjoy fitness and running in an attempt to try and burn off all the calories.
"We have absolutely no reservations in recommending James, Georgina and their team at Irwin Mitchell, Bristol. Their advice has been first class, their manners extremely pleasant and their admin prompt & accurate. Thank you all" - Clive Sibley, client
"Absolutely supportive from the very beginning of getting in touch with the team, so empathetic and genuinely concerned for my well-being as a human being, not just as a source of income for the company. Every aspect of the impact of the accident was considered, as I have 2 young children and I was unable to care for them myself at the time, it was such a relief to know what a wonderful support system was in place which eased my mind and recovery. Fantastic." - Katie Jolliffe, client
"Excellent service from Georgina Moorhead at Irwin Mitchell. She always responded quickly to any questions I had & kept me informed all the way through the claim. Very professional & helpful." – Richard Hill, client
"We received excellent service and advice over a three year period, right from the very first consultation at their offices with James Davies and then Georgina Moorhead. We obtained their name from the Headway Brain Injury Association panel of specialist legal advisers and solicitors. They were always available, held a number of office consultations and phone conferences and secured an entirely satisfactory award and outcome." – Stephen Ogden, client
"It was a complex case and was dealt with brilliantly – thanks to Deborah Rose, Georgie, James and Vince. I would highly recommend them." – Mandy Andrews, client
"So nice from the first phone call. So incredibly knowledgeable. Excellent negotiators. All correspondence, accurate, easy to understand, helpful and reassuring... They are just fabulous and I thank them very much for making my life easier to bear." - Client
“Marco has shown incredible courage and resilience over the past few years, not only coming to terms with his accident but also the long-term impact that it has had on him.
“Fatigue is a huge part of life with a brain injury, but it can often be overlooked as a major issue and significantly misunderstood. Action for Brain Injury Week has put a spotlight on this matter and Marco’s story highlights how the seriousness of such issues cannot be underestimated.”
“It may be a year since Grace’s death but the pain and loss that Jackie and Tom continue to experience is still understandably extremely raw.
“What is even more tragic about this case is that while the Road Traffic Act did not recognise Grace and so would not permit charged to be bought in respect of her death. Jackie and Tom had to go through the heart- breaking experience of registering the death of a daughter they had been denied the opportunity of meeting.
“While nothing can ever make up for their tragic loss in such needless circumstances we continue to support the family to help them overcome what happened and also in their campaign calling for changes in the law.
“Grace’s death also vividly highlights the need for drivers to take care at all times so other innocent road users don’t have to suffer like Jackie and Tom have.”
“Victoria has made tremendous progress but still faces many challenges with her injuries likely to affect her for the rest of her life.
“Through our work we often see the consequences of what can happen when vulnerable road users, such as cyclists, are involved in collisions.
“Road Safety Week is an important time to reflect on the responsibility that all of us have to keep ourselves and others safe from harm on the road.”
This incident highlights the tragic and devastating consequences a lack of concentration, attention and thought for other road users behind the wheel can have.
“Due to the actions of these men, a young man has been permanently and very seriously injured and will need significant rehabilitation to regain some form of independence. We will continue working with Jack and his family to help him secure the necessary funds to help to maximise his long term recovery.”
