My experience covers lease extensions and collective enfranchisements under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993, as well as freehold acquisitions under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, including high value and complex claims involving flats, houses and mixed estates. I also advise on residential tenancies, voluntary lease extensions, freehold purchases and disposals, and support conveyancing transactions requiring lease extension work.

With nearly 20 years in the sector, I've developed exceptional technical knowledge of leasehold enfranchisement and landlord and tenant law. I am known for strategic insight and practical, commercially focused advice, and work across both contentious and non-contentious matters, delivering strong outcomes for landlords, tenants and property owners nationwide.

I've tracked the government's programme of leasehold reform and regularly advises on the ongoing development of the Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act 2022, the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024, The Renters' Rights Act 2025 and the impending Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill.

Gavin regularly publishes on leasehold and commonhold reform, has written CPD papers for the industry, and has spoken at industry events on ongoing leasehold reforms.
