“Joanna Gosling is committed to helping families”

Legal 500

I am a workplace, commercial and family mediator and coach. I’m based in London but work nationally, bringing 30 years’ experience handling complex, high-pressure situations as a journalist to my mediation practice. As a BBC News anchor for over two decades, I built my career on listening carefully, asking the right questions and navigating sensitive, emotionally charged discussions with clarity and composure. Those same skills now underpin my work as a mediator.

When relationships break down or conflict becomes entrenched, it can feel overwhelming, uncertain and, at times, impossible to resolve. I work with individuals, families and organisations to create a calm, structured space where difficult conversations can take place and progress becomes possible. My journalistic background also means I am at ease working with complexity, able to absorb detail quickly while keeping discussions focused and productive.

    More about Joanna

I work with individuals, families, businesses and organisations who are navigating difficult situations.

I support people through divorce or separation to reach financial agreement and agreement on child arrangements, complex family dynamics, succession issues, trust and estate disputes, workplace conflict. Ideally, I am brought in early, to support people in avoiding some of the common traps of prolonged disagreement, but more often I am called in when communication has broken down and positions have become entrenched.

I help clients to build a framework for constructive communication, to better understand each other’s perspectives and to reach practical, forward-looking agreements.

I have a particular interest in working with emotionally complex or long-running disputes, especially where communication has become difficult or trust has broken down.
