Biography
I am a Solicitor in the Tax, Trusts and Estates team in Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office. I qualified in 2019 and spent the first two years of my career at a boutique corporate firm where I specialised in advising high net worth individuals and family business owners on succession and inheritance tax planning. Since joining Irwin Mitchell I have expanded my practice, advising a broad range of clients including those who have been awarded significant personal injury settlements.
I prepare all types of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney, as well as undertaking Trusts work. I also deal with probate matters and the administration of estates, including those with an international element.
What inspired you to get into law?
I knew from a young age I wanted to be a solicitor, despite not having any lawyers in the family. Having said that, as a child I thought lawyers spent their days arguing so past me would perhaps be surprised to have found herself working in a non-contentious area of the law.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Without doubt the most rewarding aspect of my role is being able to assist bereaved clients during the most difficult time most of us will ever experience. Being able to take the burden from clients and reassuring them that they (and their loved one’s estates) are in safe hands makes even the most stressful day worthwhile.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
It’s a cliché but the people make a job and the Manchester TTE team are the very best. We have a breadth of experience between us so there is always someone to bounce ideas off and share some words of wisdom.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of the office I am a keen foodie so can usually be found either in the kitchen or trying the never-ending list of Manchester’s new restaurant openings. Aside from that I love to travel (both in the UK and abroad) and the theatre.
