Biography
I’m an associate solicitor in the Court of Protection team covering Bristol, Southampton and Cardiff offices.
I joined Irwin Mitchell in January 2022 and specialise in the property and financial affairs aspect of the Court of Protection.
I'm experienced in dealing with an array of applications to the Court, from applications to appoint a Deputy to applications to purchase or sell a property, and other more complex matters. On a day to day, I assist with managing the financial affairs and property of those who lack the capacity to manage it themselves. As part of this, I work collaboratively with case managers, financial advisers and other third party professionals to provide a high level of support.
What inspired you to get into law?
I've always been fascinated by the law, particularly because I love watching real life crime documentaries! However, what inspired me to get into law was a drive to help others.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Being the supportive sounding board and giving advice when someone is in their time of need, to help (even if only in the tiniest of ways), is the most rewarding aspect of my role. It’s a privilege to be a small cog in a larger part of our clients' rehabilitation.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell's a very supportive and collaborative firm that is allowing me to learn and develop my knowledge and skills. This means we're able to give the best possible service to our clients. We have a really good team of people here who are all working towards the same goal, with the focus being on our clients.
What do you do away from the office?
I like to get out walking with my husband and dog to explore more of the South West, but I am currently kept busy at home with an ongoing house renovation project! I also enjoy playing in a local netball league each week.
