I am a Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team based in Birmingham. I act exclusively for clients in clinical negligence cases against NHS Trusts, private practitioners, general practitioners (GPs) and dentists. I run my own varied case load which includes cases arising from sub-standard surgery, orthopaedic injuries and delays in diagnosis.
I also specialise in cosmetic cases, and I have a particular interest in rhinoplasty, liposuction and laser hair removal cases arising as a result of sub-standard technique. My case load also includes cases involving sub-standard breast augmentations and facial surgery and I have experience dealing with claimants who have suffered recognised psychological injuries as a result of sub-standard treatment.
My case load also extends to dental cases and I have assisted claimants in cases arising out of sub-standard implant placement surgery, poorly performed veneers and the mis-management of orthodontic appliances (braces). I help claimants to achieve the financial means to rectify problems caused as a result of sub-standard treatment.
I regularly volunteer with the firm’s charity events and I have attended a number of fundraisers, charity walks and events within the local community promoting the importance of good healthcare. I also volunteer with a theatre group for young adults with special needs in Birmingham.
“As with all forms of the disease, early detection is key to beating mouth cancer. The fact that Gary’s condition was not diagnosed for in excess of eight months is extremely worrying.
“Mouth Cancer Action Month is an important time to put a spotlight on the issue and Gary’s experience shows that there remains much to be done to increase awareness of the condition.
“However, it is important that there is not a loss of confidence in the health service. People displaying the possible symptoms of oral cancer should seek medical advice at the earliest opportunity.”
“This is a truly heart-breaking incident, in which a couple has gone through something which simply no parent should have to face. While we accept that nothing could be done to prevent Kole’s death, the care Masen received was unacceptable.
“Over two years on Nicola and Daniel are still working to come to terms with their loss. While admissions of liability have been made in the case, we are now focused on ensuring they get the justice they deserve regarding Masen’s death.
“Baby Loss Awareness Week is an important time to reflect on and celebrate the lives of babies and our clients are hopeful that improvements will been seen in care after they have spoken out.”
