Biography
I provide holistic advice covering a wide range of family matters, and I recognise that each person’s needs are different. I rely upon my wealth of experience to make sure my support and advice is tailored to meet those needs and achieve the right outcome.
My experience covers a range of issues including:
- Divorce, separation and the resolution of related financial issues
- Wealth protection including pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements
- Arrangements for children following the breakdown of relationships.
I represent clients from all walks of life and I regularly advise medium and high net worth clients. My clients often have substantial income and capital assets, including overseas assets and trusts, which require complex financial solutions.
I provide straightforward, commercial advice and I’m committed to providing practical solutions during times of great personal stress and challenge.
What inspired you to get into law?
At school I studied English Literature and Spanish at A-Level. Words are essential tools in the law and language is of great importance. The outcomes of cases can often be directly attributed to the meaning that Judges attach to words. I also enjoy choosing the right words to achieve my clients’ objectives.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Individuals seeking family law advice are often in a time of crisis, and the path ahead can appear challenging and uncertain to them. I identify and navigate the path to resolution in a calm and compassionate manner, no matter what happens along the way. It’s a privilege for me to be their trusted advisor.
Helping clients to secure the right outcome for their family allows me to build lasting relationships with my clients, which is extremely rewarding.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
There are huge benefits from working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team. The Irwin Mitchell Divorce & Family team is the largest specialist family team in the UK, with the broadest geographical reach. This helps us all share our knowledge on a level which cannot be rivalled by our competitors.
What do you do away from the office?
I’m an enthusiastic cook and I love to bake. I’m also a regular boot camp attendee - to offset the damage caused by my baking. At the weekends I often host my friends and family at home. I believe there’s nothing better than good food, wine and company!
