Biography
I'm a paralegal in the serious injury team in Sheffield. I currently conduct my own case load, assisting clients with a variety of injuries which have arisen as a result of accidents at work, road traffic accidents or accidents in a public place.
During my time at Irwin Mitchell I've worked on cases within the fast track as well as those which fall within the multi-track; most recently assisting my colleagues with a number of complex cases, specialising in life-changing injuries including traumatic brain injury, spinal injury and serious orthopaedic injury.
I'm currently working towards qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive, studying with CILEx Law School.
Before joining Irwin Mitchell, I won work experience with the firm through a legal competition while studying at Thomas Rotherham College. Since then, I've been involved with judging the competition and speaking to competitors. Read more about Irwin Mitchell's ongoing relationship with Thomas Rotherham College.
In early 2019, I was involved with representing a family at an inquest after a loved one was killed in a road traffic accident.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I first started studying law at College as an A-Level qualification. I loved how different each area of law was and seeing how interesting and unique issues were dealt with. This is certainly still the case in my current role. Every case is so different and has numerous elements to consider. I often have to liaise with other teams within Irwin Mitchell such as Public Law, Employment Law, Medical Negligence and Family Law. You have never 'seen it all', there is always something new to learn, the law is ever changing.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
I feel privileged to be able to help our clients throughout some of the hardest times in their lives. Despite this, our clients are incredibly resilient which is truly inspiring.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
Being surrounded by experts in a number of different areas of law means that you are never without an informed and insightful answer.
My colleagues aspire to be the best they can be not only for themselves but also for our clients. They continue to support and encourage me to achieve and develop in my role which is invaluable to me.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I enjoy baking, dancing and attending theatre shows and music concerts.
