Biography
I am a Paralegal in the Immigration team at Irwin Mitchell, which falls within the High Net Worth and International Department.
I am focused on UK Immigration law, having worked on a wide range of Immigration issues, including sponsorship licence and skilled worker applications, spouse visas, naturalisation and asylum claims.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Within the Immigration team at Irwin Mitchell, and the firm as a whole, I have found a dedicated, hard-working and kind group of people, who care strongly about both the client's they represent and the colleague they work alongside. This environment not only promotes an incredibly high level of work for our clients but also allows for growth and development within the team, meaning I genuinely look forward to going in to work (unless perhaps it's a rainy Monday).
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Working in Immigration, we see a diverse range of cases and individuals. Often there are families who fear being split apart due to Immigration issues, helping these families navigate the complexities of Immigration law and ensuring they remain together is an immensely rewarding experience. Whether it's securing a visa or making a discretionary application, the ability to provide solutions that preserve family unity, and seeing the relief on a client's face, reminds me why this work matters so much.
What inspired you to get into law?
I imagine I was a frustrating child to raise, always keen to get the last word or dispute any slight misphrasing on my parent's behalf. Therefore, ideally suited to enter the world of law and channel that same energy into forming complex legal arguments and fiercely representing the team's clients.
What do you do away from the office?
Having only moved to London a little under two years ago, I can normally be found gradually working my way through the many museums and theatre shows London has to offer. I'm also a keen tennis player having been involved in the sport since I was five years old and currently playing recreationally in local leagues in London.
