Biography
I am a Solicitor practising in all areas of private family law including:
- Issues arising in unmarried or cohabitating couples and families;
- Divorce;
- Financial arrangements on divorce;
- Cases involving children;
- Nuptial agreements;
- Domestic Abuse;
- Fertility; and
- Appeals and enforcement.
I qualified as a Solicitor in early 2023 but I have been working in the family team since 2018. Prior to joining Irwin Mitchell, I achieved a First Class Honours Degree in Law from the University of Warwick.
I have had exposure to all areas of private family law with a particular focus on cases including cohabitees, complex finances and complex and international children work. I have experience in all avenues of dispute resolution to resolve matters including assisting clients in settlement discussions, round table meetings, mediation, arbitration, private hearings and litigating through Court proceedings, when required.
Whilst I have geographical links to our Sheffield and Leeds offices, I work nationally across the family team and with clients across the country.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
It is incredibly rewarding to know, and indeed, hear from former clients that they have been able to move on with their lives after working together. Clients often present at our initial meetings when they are at their most vulnerable and being able to drive and guide them to come out of the other side is the true privilege of my role.
What inspired you to get into law?
I am, and always have been someone who likes to solve problems. Being able to solve problems within family law means that I am able to solve multifaceted issues not in the abstract but in real-life, working with real people.
