Charlotte Joyce

My day-to-day work is very varied and I assist solicitors in the team with cases involving failures in cosmetic procedures and dentistry, as well as surgical errors and brain injuries.

What inspired you to get into law?

I studied law at University and had the opportunity to participate in a Legal Advice Clinic. This allowed me to see first-hand the impact that access to legal advice can have on people’s lives. It inspired me to pursue a career in law.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The most rewarding part of my role is speaking to potential clients who want to make a claim. Often, clients feel as though they haven’t been listened to so being their first port of call is very rewarding.

What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?

The Medical Negligence team is a large department and everyone is so approachable. Irwin Mitchell also do so much to promote flexible working and wellbeing, which is something I really value.

What do you do away from the office?

I enjoy going to concerts, reading and caring for my cats.
