Anna Chenoweth

I am a partner specialising in all areas of private family law. I have particular links to South Yorkshire, but I work with clients based all over the UK and overseas.

I have particular expertise in dealing with cases involving complex financial structures and businesses, overseas assets and trusts and have considerable experience of working on cases involving international families and individuals.

I have extensive experience in financial cases, advising on and drafting pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and of matters involving jurisdictional disputes.

I make sure to establish each client's objectives at the outset to ensure I can tailor my advice and tactical focus to support their needs. Wherever possible, I work towards helping clients resolve matters consensually, ideally at an early stage. However, that is not always possible and when court proceedings are necessary, I take a commercial and strategic approach to such litigation.

What inspired you to get into law?

A pushy careers advisor who, it turned out, was right. A career in family law is truly rewarding, intellectually challenging and no two days are ever the same.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

I am often instructed by clients when they are at a low point in their lives. It is incredibly rewarding, and indeed a privilege, to work with clients and enable them to achieve a resolution which allows them to move forward and grow in confidence.

What do you do away from the office?

I enjoy spending time with friends and family, good food and wine and long walks in the Peak District.
