Biography
I am a Paralegal within the Serious Injury Resolve Team who deals with Personal Injury claims. These include road traffic accidents, public liability accidents, accidents at work and dog bite claims. I also provide assistance with fatal accident claims and secondary victim claims. I have experience dealing with a vast array of injuries, including orthopaedic injuries and complex psychological injuries, and liaising with clients and rehabilitation specialist to arrange treatment to assist with recovery.
My role includes the day-to-day management of claims and all aspects of litigation. I also provide support throughout the team and offer assistance to colleagues to help progress claims throughout the litigation process.
What Inspired You to Get Into Law?
In 2016, I started working as a voluntary Special Constable for Derbyshire Constabulary. I would regularly attend road traffic accidents and, while I found being able to help people in their moment of need rewarding, I often thought about them after an incident. This is when my interest turned to wanting to help people after an incident or road traffic collision. I then started working at Irwin Mitchell as an Admin Assistant within the Personal Injury department in 2017 and have progressed into the role of Paralegal.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is receiving positive feedback from clients and being able to support them through the claims process, assisting with their recovery and future needs. I enjoy building relationships with clients and knowing that they can reach out to me if they need any support or guidance.
What do you like best about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I feel like I’m part of a approachable and supportive firm. Irwin Mitchell is also supporting me through my CILEX qualification, which is something that I probably wouldn’t have been able to do on my own. Irwin Mitchell always provide opportunities for career progression and I find this motivating.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
In my spare time, I like to go on walks with my family and friends exploring new places. I also enjoying reading.
I also have an ten-year-old cat called George who gets a lot of attention.
