Irwin Mitchell has appointed Rosanne Tweddle as a partner, based in the firm’s Aske office in North Yorkshire, further strengthening its specialist expertise in rural and agricultural property matters.

Rosanne joins Irwin Mitchell from Womble Bond Dickinson, bringing extensive experience advising landowners, estates and rural businesses on complex agricultural and rural property issues.

Her work focuses on rural land and estates, including agricultural tenancies, contract and share farming arrangements, mortgages, sporting and mineral rights, development land, and wider strategic land and estate management. She is particularly experienced in navigating the commercial and operational challenges facing modern rural businesses.

Based at Irwin Mitchell’s Aske office, Rosanne’s appointment reinforces the firm’s commitment to its North Yorkshire presence, while also supporting clients across the wider North of England, including Durham and Northumberland.

Rosanne brings first hand insight into the agricultural sector through a farming background, combining technical legal expertise with a practical understanding of rural business structures. She is a member of the Agricultural Law Association and serves as Deputy Chair of the Council of the Association. She has also recently been recognised in the Chambers and Partners North East Agriculture & Rural Affairs Guide 2025.

Andrea Jones, partner and head of Mitchell’s private client advisory team, said

“Rosanne’s appointment reflects our continued investment in specialist expertise that supports landowners, estates and rural businesses with long term planning and commercially focused advice. Her experience and practical understanding of rural property matters make her an excellent addition to the firm.”

Rosanne Tweddle added:

“I’m delighted to be joining Irwin Mitchell. Rural clients need advice that reflects both the legal and commercial realities they face, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support clients on complex and strategic rural property matters.”
