Wellbeing

Supporting the wellbeing of our colleagues is an important part of creating a healthy, fair and inclusive workplace.

We are committed to creating an environment where people feel safe, valued and supported, where wellbeing is prioritised, and where colleagues can perform at their best while building sustainable careers.

We are committed to listening and acting on colleague feedback to improve wellbeing, engagement and inclusion and in 2026 we were recognised by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work and were the only law firm included in the "very big organisation" category.

A holistic approach to wellbeing

We recognise that wellbeing is personal and multi-dimensional. Colleagues have access to support that helps promote mental, physical and financial wellbeing, alongside flexible ways of working and resources designed to support different life stages and individual circumstances.

This includes:

  • Healthy Mind Advocates and Mental Health First Aiders who help raise awareness of mental health and signpost support
  • Access to confidential support through our Employee Assistance Helpline and healthcare benefits including Aviva DigiCare+ Workplace and Digital GP services
  • Financial wellbeing resources and guidance
  • Menopause support and resources
  • Additional support for carers, including flexibility and leave provisions
  • Wellbeing training and practical guidance for both colleagues and managers.

Flexible and sustainable ways of working

Creating sustainable ways of working while delivering excellent service is central to our wellbeing approach. We take a balanced approach to flexible and agile working, supporting requests where possible, while ensuring we deliver for our clients, meet business needs, and work within our regulatory obligations. How, where and when colleagues work will vary across teams, depending on the work and what is needed to perform effectively. We have also adopted the Mindful Business Charter and encourage healthy and sustainable working practices across the legal profession.

We recognise that managing workload effectively is a key contributor to wellbeing. Following colleague feedback, we developed Capacity, Prioritisation and Resilience training programmes for both colleagues and line managers. These programmes are designed to help people manage competing priorities, build resilience and focus on activities that create the greatest value for clients and colleagues.

Equipping managers to support wellbeing

Managers play an important role in creating healthy and supportive workplaces. We provide training and guidance to help managers support wellbeing, understand team capacity and hold effective conversations when colleagues may be experiencing pressure or challenges.

Our neurodiversity training for line managers further supports managers to build inclusive teams by increasing understanding of different neurodivergent profiles, identifying workplace barriers, implementing practical adjustments and creating psychologically safe environments where colleagues can thrive.

Accessibility and workplace adjustments

We are committed to creating an accessible workplace where colleagues have the support they need to succeed. A wide range of workplace adjustments are available, including assistive technology, flexible working arrangements, workspace adaptations, preferred communication methods and role-specific support tailored to individual needs.

We also provide dedicated guidance and resources to help colleagues and managers better understand neurodiversity and support one another effectively. Colleague networks including IM Able and the Neurodivergence Support Group provide opportunities for peer support, shared learning and feedback on policies and processes.
