Biography
I am a Solicitor in the London Residential Property and Leasehold Enfranchisement Team at Irwin Mitchell. I recently qualified in February 2023, having spent 18 months of my training contract with property teams at Irwin Mitchell (in particular, residential property and rural real estate). The remaining six months of my training was spent with our Tax, Trusts and Estates team.
I act for a wide variety of clients, from private individuals to landlords and developers and deal with all aspects of residential property law, including:
- Lease extensions
- Enfranchisement
- Missing Landlord Claims
- Portfolio acquisitions and re-financing
- Conveyancing
- Deeds of Variation
- Residential management e.g. licences, deeds of covenant
What inspired you to get into law?
As a student, I was particularly struck by how law touches every aspect of life. I was drawn to the opportunities of intellectually challenging and interesting work but always with very practical real-life impact.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
I really enjoy the opportunity to build good relationships with clients and helping clients to navigate technical and complex law to achieve their end goal – whether that’s purchasing their dream home, extending their lease, or managing their portfolio of properties.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I have fantastic colleagues at Irwin Mitchell and if a client has a need which I can’t assist with, there will always be someone either within my team or across the firm who can help. It’s a real privilege to work with and learn from people who are so experienced and so good at what they do.
What do you do away from the office?
I love the great outdoors and spend as much of my spare time as I can up a hill, under canvas or out on the water. Being part of a church is also a big part of my life when I’m not at work. My other great love is good food, whether it’s cooking for friends and family or exploring the restaurants of Brighton and London.
