I am an Associate Solicitor in the Medical Negligence team in Birmingham, working with families across the West Midlands. I act for clients in clinical negligence cases against NHS Trusts, private practitioners and general practitioners.
I run my own varied case load which includes cases resulting in fatalities, neonatal deaths, brain injury, surgical errors and delays in diagnosis of cancer. Before starting my current role, I trained with a Shropshire firm and I spent some time working as a Court of Protection Solicitor, assisting vulnerable people and their families in the Shropshire area to manage their affairs, often following an award of compensation from a personal injury or clinical negligence claim.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Throughout the life of a case, I am able to really get to know my clients and their families and understand what matters the most to them.
Their strength and resilience despite some very difficult circumstances inspires me to work hard to ensure that we achieve the best possible outcome.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I joined Irwin Mitchell due to their excellent reputation for clinical negligence work. I am proud to be part of a team of some of the most talented clinical negligence lawyers in country.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I have a passion for dance and theatre and I perform in productions in the Shrewsbury area. I am also kept busy by my energetic toddler and we can often be found letting off steam around the Shrewsbury and Telford countryside.
"I would like to thank Eleanor Giblin from the Birmingham office for her Professional and Quality service she gave me in my Medical Negligence case. Eleanor explained the process thoroughly and was always truthful when providing information throughout each stage of the case. Eleanor's commitment and research ensured we had a strong case in which we won. I would not hesitate to use Eleanor and Irwin Mitchell if needed again" - 5* Trustpilot review
"Eleanor’s leadership has been professional throughout this 4.5 year period and she must be complimented on her legal, project management abilities and interpersonal skills. She has been entirely honest and diligent in communicating and explaining the risks and merits of the case at every stage whether verbally or in writing. She is open to input from the client although she will say what is useful or otherwise, but more that that she has been very kind, empathetic, patient and compassionate in her approach to a vulnerable client needing help from an ‘alien environment’, we offer our respect and sincere thanks to Eleanor and the Team she assembled and led." -5* Trustpilot review
"Eleanor, Saydie and the entire team have been extremely professional throughout a delicate process in dealing with us as bereaved parents. They have been very calm and sensitive throughout and it never felt like a pressured or stressful process. We are so pleased to have had a positive outcome for our son after initially being unsure about whether to take his case forward. The fact that the Trust admitted liability for his stillbirth has enabled us to move forward and give our son the closure that he deserves. We would highly recommend the team at Birmingham and send our personal thank yous again to everyone involved in our case." -5* Trustpilot review
"I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Irwin Mitchell, especially Eleanor who dealt with our case. Eleanor always dealt with us honestly and with sensitivity, especially due to the nature of my injury. I feel communication was excellent and Eleanor kept us informed every step of the way. Not only did she secure a positive outcome to our case, she also got the most important thing - an apology from the health trust." -5* Trustpilot review
